DVDs are almost finished! Hello Filmsters Academy campers and parents! The 2012 DVDs with all 10 films are nearly completed. We were anxiously awaiting the recording and inclusion of Greg Wellham's original music graciously recorded at MobTown Studios in Baltimore. We had help in Pro Tools audio mix by Richard Morris, thanks Richard! And as you will see, Erica Rowe has created another spectacular After Effects DVD menu for this year's movie. Our resient graphics expert and camp favorite, Graca McKenney will be sending the DVD covers which looks like this year's poster, featuring film camper, Gus Baganz' hands! If you as a staff, intern or student DID NOT FILL OUT AN ENVELOPE with your address on it, please email the proper address to us at filmsters@filmsters.com to ensure that you will recieve a camp DVD. Soon after DVDs, movies will be uploaded to the filmstersacademy.com website for viewing and sharing with family and friends. Best, Lee Also, don't forget about the Annapolis Film Festival! We are launching in March! We will have four days of over 50-70 films. If you, or someone you know would like to volunteer write to volunteers@annapolisfilmfestival.net.

Hello Everyone, As the heat of summer bears down on us, its a great time to go to the movies! It's also a good time to think about what you are going to pitch at film camp on day one. Here are a few tips to help you think of a good story. 1. It must have a beginning, a middle and an end. 2. Good characters who have a motivation to act, feel, change or react to something in the storyline. 3. Think of the structure of your story...is it unique, surprising? Does it have a twist? or is it told in flashbacks and representational imagery? 4. Something should be "at stake" in the story...what does the protagonist stand to gain or lose at the story's end? 5. What genre? Action/adventure, comedy, psychological thriller, suspense, horror, drama, animation, mockumentary, love story or sci-fi? Only 20 days til camp....

Advanced and Intermediate classes are full, so we will be giving away unregistered slots after July 1st if we have not received your registration forms. We have an amazing line up of camp staff, interns and guest instructors this summer! It's going to be the best year ever! Lee
